Project

LOG - Palletflow - Development of a Rail-Road Transport Network for Pallet-based Freight Transport in Europe

Project

Dec 2007 - Sep 2010
The aim of the Pallet-Flow project is to develop an intelligent and innovative system of an intermodal cargo transport based on pallet- and unit-load volumes which is supported by modern technologies of identification, communication and transport planning. The research project is divided in two main phases: the preliminary study and the pilot study. Within the framework of this phases the main steps are (1) examination of technical feasibility, (2) evidence of business application respectively analysis of marketplace potential (preliminary study) as well as (3) implementation of reloading test runs and shuttle transports and the (4) ap-praisal of the results of demonstration (pilot study).
