Abstract
The purpose of this study is to expand the current understanding on supply chain complexity (SCC) by incorporating both good and bad aspects of complexity. The results of a structured literature review led to the development of a theoretical model incorporating business conditions (namely, environmental dynamism) under which certain SCC drivers lead to increased or decreased performance. From a managerial standpoint, the findings will assist managers to gain an understanding under which business conditions specific SCC drivers are either beneficial for their company´s performance, or not.
