The aim of this work was to investigate the abrasive
wear of test platelets inserted in a novel injection molding
wear apparatus with a capillary slit die in regard to the
filler amount, type and geometry in the polymer melt
processed through the slit. Furthermore the arrangement
of the filler material along the slit was considered.
We found, that the geometry of the filler has a high
influence on the abrasive wear. From all tested filler
materials, the long glass fibers induce the highest damage
to the surface.
