Abstract:

In bioinformatics, researchers at FH OÖ support specialists in life sciences, such as doctors, biologists and geneticists, with intelligent software systems for analysis of molecular biological data and for the simulation of biological processes.

In general, bioinformatics is that branch of computer science, whose goal is to create a basis for the management and integration of biological data and develop a variety of analyzes for these specific data. We are researching and developing algorithmic approaches for genomics, for the sequence analysis for proteomics (the study of the proteome), for structural biology, and last but not least the application of machine learning methods in the analysis of biological data.
